What is a doula?
A doula is a person who provides non-medical support to women and their partners around the arrival of a child and during other life transitions.
I offer a caring presence, as well as emotional, physical and practical support, together with information and tools to help you move through each stage with greater confidence and peace of mind.
My specificity as Yoga-Doula®
As a Yoga-Doula®, I can incorporate prenatal and postnatal yoga practices, as well as breathing, movement, relaxation and body-awareness tools when they are relevant and welcomed.
These practices are offered in a simple and personalized way, without the need to practice yoga or follow any particular philosophy.
My role is to:
-
Listen to you and support you without judgement.
-
Respect your choices, your story and your own pace.
-
Offer you tools to better understand your sensations and draw on your own resources.
-
Share reliable information and resources to help you make your own informed choices.
-
Connect you with organisations and professionals who can support you when your needs fall outside my scope of practice.
-
Support you alongside your chosen medical team, without ever replacing them.
You remain at the heart of the decisions concerning your journey. My role is to support you, listen to you and help you find what feels right for you.
I do not perform any medical procedures, I do not speak on your behalf, and I do not replace the advice or care provided by healthcare professionals.
